27TH GUSA GAMES WRAP

Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

AAMUSTED participated in two events at the games today - Football and Handball

FOOTBALL (MEN)

AAMUSTED caused a major upset in the games today as it defeated one of the tournament soccer giants (UENR) to qualify for the semi-finals.

I am yet to confirm if any debutant has been able to make it to the semis in men's football, which is always the highlight of the entire games.

AAMUSTED would face KNUST at the semis tomorrow, November 16, 2022, at the Paa Joe Park between 6am and 9am.

Contrary to the news that it was disqualified for fielding an unqualified player, UG-Legon played against UEW and beat them to also register themselves in the semis.

The controversy over their eligibility meadered its way to bolster a confusion in one of the matches. Three teams appeared to warm because one of them - UMaT - who protested and won against UG, expected three points deducted from Legon to be added to their accumulated points from the group stages to qualify for the quarter finals but it wasn't added. Somehow, they were prevailed upon to leave the field to pave way for UDS and UHAS to play.

HANDBALL (MEN)

As indicated yesterday, AAMUSTED could not withstand the might of UEW in the men's Handball Semi-final game today. Our team suffered a miserable defeat in the game.

Final Scores

UEW 50 VRS 20 AAMUSTED.

Nevertheless, our team would face KNUST for the third position, hopefully to win the first medal (bronze) for AAMUSTED  at the games.

Say a prayer for our male soccer team, winning a gold medal is possible with them.

Fingers crossed 🤞

Thank you for your attention.
