Ghanaians Are Not Ready To Be Governed By A One Term President - National Coordinator, GLRSSMP I McBashMedia
The National Coordinator for Ghana Landscape Restoration and Small Scale Mining Project, Dr. John Kingsley Krugu has passionately appealed to Ghanaians to exercise patience as government is committed to finding lasting solutions to the current economic turbulence that is affecting all and sundry. He added that the current talk in town that the New Patriotic Party has slim chances in the 2024 general elections is a big fallacy and a deliberate attempt by the National Democratic Congress to confuse Ghanaians and therefore the need for all especially the NPP communicators to clarify it to the electorates.
Dr. Krugu reiterated that Ghanaians giving the former president John Dramani Mahama who is likely to be the presidential candidate of the NDC in the impending 2024 another chance to rule Ghana again would be like a car owner giving his brand new car to a drunkard driver to handle and therefore added that the ruling government is leaving no stone unturned in breaking the eight, an agenda that will transform Ghana.
He stated this in Zebilla during the first ever NPP youth conference, which was organized by the youth wing of the ruling party under the theme "Igniting the youth, a catalyst for breaking the eight" and therefore charged the youth to continue having hope and trust in the Akuffo Addo -Bawumia government for continues development.
Dr. Krugu hinted that plans are far advanced for the establishment of an inland port in the Bawku West District, concisely within Kukuruzua- Kansoogo areas. He says Ghana is bordered by landlock countries like Mali and Burkina Faso and these countries clear their goods from Takoradi and Tema which are already choked and therefore the urgent need for an inland port to the created-in Kansoogo -Kukuruzua area. This plan according to Dr. Krugu was initiated by His Excellency Osagyafo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, first president of the Republic of Ghana but could not be materialized and the current government is doing everything humanly possible to make sure it becomes a reality.
He added that the Butt -tiis Burri scholarship fund, which aims at ameliorating the suffering and plight of tertiary students not being able to pay their school fees has been launched with the ultimate goal of supporting students and apprentices in the Zebilla constituency of the Upper East Region with available fund to aid them to go through their training successfully.
Dr. John Kingsley Krugu further added that the teeming youth in the Bawku West District need decent jobs that would enable them to get money to take proper care of their families and government is working hard in establishing mining centres in Sapeliga and Zongoyire areas as a way of making jobs available to the youth. He further added that a contract has been signed with Total Energy to build a solar plant system at Galaka, a suburb of Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region, and this according to him will enable residents to engage in dry season farming to boost their income.
