Bolga; Regional Executives of Ghana Athletics Association inaugurated I McBashMedia
The Upper East Regional chapter of the Ghana Athletics Association of Ghana has inaugurated its regional executives to spearhead the activities of association. They include Mr. Afelibiek Ababu, chairman of the association, Mr. Abu Dasmani, Vice Chairman and Mr. Abubakar Muntasir as Secretary. Others are Mr. Robert Tunaaba (Asst. Secretary), Madam Francisca Zanore (Treasury), Coach John Ali Atia (Organizer) and Mr. Franklin Towoni as Technical adviser. The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) Mr. Bawa Fuseini asked the new executives to be up and doing to make sure the region becomes the hub athletes in Ghana.
“The experience and zeal that the executives have means you are coming to resuscitate sports in the Upper East Region. You were carefully scrutinized and selected due to the vast experience and love they have for the sector.”
A former Director of Sports at the National Sports College, Mr. Dominic Asaabia Amogre indicated that the antidote to violence in Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Schools in Ghana is sporting activities and therefore called on government to invest adequately in the sector.
The newly sworn in Regional Chairman of the Association, Mr. Afelibiek Ababu indicated that he and his executives are up to task and will do everything humanly possible to raise the image of the region in the sporting discipline.
In their solidarity messages, a North East Regional Chairman of the association, Mr. Daniel Janamah Duut congratulated the new executives and appealed to them to put up their best to lift the image of athletics in the region.
He said, “The five Northern Regions of Ghana have a lot of talented people in the sporting discipline. There is therefore the need for them to come together to unearthed them.I will urge the other regions to partner them in order to enable them produce good results.”
The newly inaugurated executives pledged their rediness to work hard to bring all talented sports young people together.
