Youth in Sissala land to embark on a nationwide "civil noice" for bad roads l mcbashmedia
The leadership of a pressure group called Sissala Youth forum (SYF) have issued a communique telling all its members to show up for an intended demonstration, they want to use the demonstration to force government to fix their roads.
The demonstration which is planned to come off on the 29th of this month is being organized by SYF, a local pressure group in the Sissala area of the upper west region. This group is known for it's force within the area, they have carried out a number of activities to protect and promote all natural resources within the locality. SYF was one of the groups that pushed for government to banned rosewood harvesting in the North, they have also joined other youth groups to fight and stop a number of illegal activities in the area.
Sources close to mcbashmedia have it that The leadership of SYF are however not happy about their state of roads since independence up to date, they have done a number of activities in the past and now to draw governments attention to their state of roads. All their efforts have proved fatal, during the immediate past government the group organized a well successful press conference to ask government to fix their roads. They have carried out a strong media campaign on social media and traditional media but nothing came out from it, the group is now forced to do something they are not noted for. They are peace loving people if I may add.
But it seems their patience is running out very quickly day by day, the reason their general secretary Mr. Gbene Sakibu issued a circular about an intended demonstration in the coming week. The details of the demonstration are as been captured in the circular reads,
"DEMO! DEMO!! DEMONSTRATION!!!
The executives of the Sissala Youth Forum have planned a MASSIVE DEMONSTRATION to register our displeasure on the DEPLORABLE road network in the entire sissala land.
This is tentatively slated for Friday, 29th November, 2019 in Tumu .
We expect all active sissalas to take part in this important event. Thanks in advance.
By PRO. Hon Amin."
The group is therefore calling all concern citizens, youth, Chiefs, opinion leaders and the general public for this intended demonstration, they think that what governments understands is not dialogue but "civil noice". We will wait for the day to come and next line of actions to be taken after the demonstration has ended.
