WC HADGI an Afrobeat Dancehall Artist, from Upper West, Wasai precisely made an announcement, in June 2023. On his social media handles, about his maiden album. Dubbed "Naabadei" it is an album to Honor the late Sulemani Haleru Gbentie,for his enormous contributions to the creative industry. Most especially, the music industry in Tumu and Upper West Region at large.  Naabadei, had an initiative called "Orphan Concert" which he did to support the orphanage home in Jirapa. A young and practicing midwife who works at the Tumu Municipal Hospital saved the life of a woman in labour by the roadside. She had to work without any medical equipment but still demonstrated great skill to save the life of the unborn baby as well as the mother.    Madam Nawiadima Samankina was seen trying her best to deliver the baby by the street while balancing her own child on her back. She had to cut short her own schedule as soon as she saw the struggling woman on the street. The action took place in a town called Tumu in the Sissala East Municipality of the Upper West Region. It happened close to the Tumu-Bolga road at the roundabout on the 2nd of August 2023.  Assisting her was a physician assistant Mr. Mumuni Sidik and Umuhera Yahaya an Enrolled Nurse. They supported her and took the mother also to the hospital after Samankina left with the baby to the hospital.   As part of activities to accomplish its mandate and constitutional role of educating and sensitizing citizens on relevant national issues, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has observed this year's Constitutional Week with staff of Ghana Prison Service in Navrongo, to enlightened them more on the constitution of Ghana. Customary Lands Secretariat Donates Towards Haemodialysis Centre I McBashMedia

The Bolgatanga Customary Lands Secretariat in the Upper East Region has donated GHÈ»1,600.00 to management of the Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga to support construct a Haemodialysis Centre for the Region. Mr Gado Akurugu, the Co-ordinator for the Secretariat, said the need for the Centre was dear to the Secretariat, and that the donation was the Secretariat's widow’s mite towards the construction. He appealed to philanthropists and relevant stakeholders within and outside the region to contribute towards the Construction of the Centre.  The Administrator of the Hospital, Mr Samuel Atuba underscored the need for the Centre, and said it would reduce the cost of patients traveling to, and from Tamale for dialysis. Dr Emmanuel Akatibo, a Physician Specialist at the Hospital and Lead Advocate for the Haemodialysis Centre, expressed gratitude to the Secretariat for the financial support, and appealed for more support to fast-track the construction of the Centre.  Story by Major(GBC).

Chieftaincy Minister Calls On Zug-Rann I McBashmedia

  The Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Naba Asigri Abugrago Azorka II. The move was intended to find lasting solution to the crisis in the Bawku Municipality of the Upper East Region. The Minister said the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) believed in the rule of law, and would, therefore, apply the law to bring lasting solution to the chieftaincy issue in the area. Mr Boateng said the Ministry would work to ensure that peace was restored to the Bawku Municipality and its environs.  He noted that the Nayiri erred when he enskinned a rival Chief of Bawku, and indicated that during his recent visit to the Nayiri, he admitted that the move was wrong, and apologized accordingly. Baba continued with his long established practice of supporting the Muslim community within the Talensi Constituency during their annual fasting season and other festive occasions, has in this month of purification, procured about 17 bags of sugar, 18 cartons of milk and 13 cartons of Lipton for distribution to Muslims in the Constituency to aid them in their mandatory religious practice of fasting and prayers. Cyber Ghana, a non-profit organization based in Accra, Ghana has launched it's maiden edition of National Cyber boot camps and competitions for Senior High Schools in Ghana. An instructor at Cyber Ghana Kwadwo Agyei Baffour said the National Cyber Champion Competition aims to inspire high school students towards careers in Cyber security and its related science technology engineering, and mathematical (STEM) disciplines critical to Ghana's future through competition. He added that the event seeks to encourage and promote a culture of Cyber. Selected schools earlier attended free boot camp training and qualified teams from the various schools and the top teams would meet at the zonal and National levels to compete.  Individual students who exhibited unique skills are enrolled in Cyber Ghana's ongoing magnet program, a free program that seeks to introduce advanced security skills in students while schooling in high schools and universities.
