Maiden National Cyber Champion Competition (NCCC) Launched in Bolgatanga I McBashMedia.



Cyber Ghana, a non-profit organization based in Accra, Ghana has launched it's maiden edition of National Cyber boot camps and competitions for Senior High Schools in Ghana.

An instructor at Cyber Ghana Kwadwo Agyei Baffour said the National Cyber Champion Competition aims to inspire high school students towards careers in Cyber security and its related science technology engineering, and mathematical (STEM) disciplines critical to Ghana's future through competition.

He added that the event seeks to encourage and promote a culture of Cyber. Selected schools earlier attended free boot camp training and qualified teams from the various schools and the top teams would meet at the zonal and National levels to compete. 




Individual students who exhibited unique skills are enrolled in Cyber Ghana's ongoing magnet program, a free program that seeks to introduce advanced security skills in students while schooling in high schools and universities.

The zone four competition comprised of schools in the Northern part of Ghana. The competition took place at the Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School in the Upper East Region. Dabokpa Technical Institute competed against Bolga Girls Senior High School. The winners of the competition Bolgatanga Girls SHS pleaded with senior high schools and Universities to embrace the benefits of cyber security skills advancement.

Assistant headmistress in charge of Domestic at Bolga Girls SHS Madam Mercy Tibire, thanked Cyber Ghana for organizing the competition. 



Network Administrator at Bolgatanga Technical University, Mr Richard Azure implored the students to aquire skills in Cyber security because we are in an era where everybody transacts businesses online. He added that Mobile Money accounts and bank accounts all require protection hence the need for all to study Cyber security to avoid digital stealing, terrorism and armed robbery in our lives.

Both participants from Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School (Bogiss) and Dabokpa Technical Institute expressed their appreciation to Cyber Ghana for organizing such an intellectual competition.
