Let's Unite, Develop Our District -Bolga East DCE Tells Residents I McBashMedia

The District Chief Executive for Bolga East, Hon David Amoah has admonished all and sundry in the Bolga East District to   reflect on the sacrifices made by our forefathers in the struggle for independence and always be willing to unveil themselves towards activities meant to catalyst development in the area. The DCE made the assertion during the 66th independence day parade program in Zuruangu, capital of Bolga East of the Upper East Region of Ghana. He added that may the independence day celebration remind us of the price of freedom so that we will be encouraged to join the national efforts to create the future we all desire.

He lamented that after sixty six years of independence, Bolga East is still battling with social vices such as teenage pregnancies, early child marriage, as well as school dropouts hence the urgent need for parents and stakeholders to partner with government to immediately nib the problem in the bud.

Mr Amoah further bemoans the activities of young guys driving "cando" who are supposed to be in schools. He added that these people normally entice little girls with money and this frequently result in teenage pregnancy cases.

This year's celebration which is on the theme " Our unity, our strength, our purpose" seeks to encourage Ghanaians not to renege on our promised of being patriotic citizens.

Twenty basic schools and two senior high schools as well as artisans partake in the independence day parade in the Bolga East District.

The District Chief Executive for Bolga East, Hon David Amoah, the District Police Commander, ASP Charles Simpa and  the District director of education, Mr George Asira receive the salute on behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.

According to the DCE, 150 hexagonal tables and 900 chairs for KGs and 400 dual desks for Primary schools were handed over to schools in the District. One (1) KG block constructed at Zuruangu Moshie and one JHS block with 100 dual desks in Dubila  have also been handed over to Ghana Education Service this year.
