Students of COLTEK donates Christian books to UEW-K on behalf of a Donor l mcbashmedia
A benevolent church in Canada led by Brother Joseph Frimpong donated a set of Christian literature books for students of University of Education, Kumasi Campus on December 5,2019. The presentation was done by Mr. Richard Opoku (Omega) on behalf of the Canadian church.
At a short handover ceremony at the school administration, the school's Registrar, Mr. Micheal Kofi Adu, Finance officer Mr. Jeffery Mensah, Deputy Registrar Mr. Ampommah, Vice Dean of Student's Affairs, Dr. Phillip Oti Agyen and other staff of the College represented the College Principal to receive the books on his behalf.
The ceremony started with a prayer by the College Chaplain and Mr. David, a member of the University Relations made a short speech indicating that this was not the first time the donor has given books to the school.
He added that the usage of the books by the University and the students has made the donor to bring more books for the University.
Mr. Richard Opoku (Omega), a level 200 B A English Language Education student of the University who made the presentation on behalf of the donor church, said years back he created the link with this church and after gaining admission to the University he proposed to the donors to make it possible to donate some Christian Books to students to enhance their Christian life.
He added that the donors were pleased about students seriousness and the University's commitment to the word of God. Mr. Richard hinted that he will have further engagements and consultations with the University management to see how in the future they can establish a Christrain library in the school.
Mr. Richard Opoku thanked Abdul Raheem Puoliweh Banu, MGT level 200 of universityof education Winneba Kumasi campus for his effort and support to make this donation a success.
In receiving the books, the College Registrar, Mr. Micheal Kofi Adu, thanked the donors on behalf of the Principal and on his part, the Vice Dean of students Dr. Philip Oti Agyen also used the opportunity to thank the donors and advised students to make good use of the materials. Dr. Oti said he has not gone through all the books but the few that he has read are rich in content and will help students.
mcbashmedia.blogspot.com spoke to the donor's representative, Mr. Richard Opoku (OMEGA) to see how many books were presented and how much they cost and the response was that the books are about 1500 and each book is costly. Mr. Richard said it was not the cost of the books but the benefits students will get from knowing God and serving Him with all their heart.
The donors, Mr Richard Opoku and Abdul Raheem Puoliweh Banu also said they have tried to build a good relationship with the Canadians to support the University with more books.
