Remembering Dr Hilla Limann, president of the Republic of Ghana 1979–1981 I McMashMedia

  Exactly 25 years ago, on the 23rd of January 1998, the President of the Third Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Dr. Hilla Limann passed on to eternity. Dr. Hilla Limann, a teacher, diplomat and statesman, after winning the June 1979 presidential elections on the ticket of the People’s National Party an Nkrumaist party, was sworn into office on the 24th of September 1979 as the President of the Third Republic of Ghana.  President Limann, when he came to power, was virtually unknown on the national scene, although it emerged that he had been a teacher, served as a councillor at the local authority level and a research officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bolga; Regional Executives of Ghana Athletics Association inaugurated I McBashMedia

  The Upper East Regional chapter of the Ghana Athletics Association of Ghana has inaugurated its regional executives to spearhead the activities of association. They include Mr. Afelibiek Ababu, chairman of the association, Mr. Abu Dasmani, Vice Chairman and Mr. Abubakar Muntasir as Secretary. Others are Mr. Robert Tunaaba (Asst. Secretary), Madam Francisca Zanore (Treasury), Coach John Ali Atia (Organizer) and Mr. Franklin Towoni as Technical adviser. The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) Mr. Bawa Fuseini asked the new executives to be up and doing to make sure the region becomes the hub athletes in Ghana.  “The experience and zeal that the executives have means you are coming to resuscitate sports in the Upper East Region.   Yenyeya Mining Group, a Talensi based indigenous Mining Company licensed in 2007 and registered under the Companies Act of 1963 has found it vital to provide an update to all stakeholders in the mining sector in the Upper East Region and the general public interested in the matter. The Managing Director of Yenyeya Mining Group, Hon Charles Taleog Ndabon in a press statement vividly disclosed that mining has been his business for the past twenty five ( 25) years and he was already in the mining business before bringing Mr Wei Xing, the Chief Executive Officer of Shaanxi Mining Limited, now Earl International Group Ghana Gold Limited from China in 2008 to render mining support services to his outfit, Yenyeya Mining Group. He further added that he and Wei Xing had an agreement that their operations were to be small scale mining, however in 2017, when Shaanxi, now Earl International wanted to expand to a large scale mining, they together had another agreement which is still authentic.  M

NDC Women Wing Donates To Tumu Hospital I McBashMedia

Today the women wing of the biggest opposition party NDC in the Sissala East constituency was at the  Municipal hospital -Tumu to donate some items.The donation was done in the presence of some nurses on duty and patients.  The items donated included  liquid soaps for them to improve their personal hygiene, tissue for them to clean their hands after handwashing and  some assorted drinks for the patients and nurses at the children and maternity wards. The items donated were worth a thousand Ghana cedis.  The Constituency women wing included the women organizer  Madam Mercy Nyame and her deputy Madam  Sahada Gomina, former women organizer Madam Laadi Kanton and other party members  including madam Dora Lieku, Sahada Kanton, Jarsu Rasheed. During the presentation, the constituency women organizer madam Mercy said they should have done the presentation on the new year day but due to some other issues it couldn't be done.She said the gesture was just a  token to be given to the hospital

The Chiefs, Queen mothers, youth and various political parties in the Tempane District of the Upper be Region, have called on government to as a matter of urgency, consider the frustration, troubles, and suffering that constituents go through daily due to bad road network across District and come to their aid. They emphasied that, the main road from Bugri-Corner through Bugri -Basyonde to Basyonde junction, Apiilug junction through Akara- Woriyanga - Yabrago to Tempane Senior High School junction, Gagbiri township to Tempane -Adomeabra and Kpikpira to Nambina roads are in a deplorable state. They added that Tempane shares border with neighboring Togo and Burkina Faso which makes it both a booming business hub and a transit for many business between Ghana and the two countries.  According to them, Tempane District have ten (10) viable markets but due to the bad state of their roads, revenue mobilization has reduced drastically for the past years. The Member of Parliament for Zebilla Constituency in the Upper East Region of Ghana, Hon Lawyer Cletus Apul Avoka has officially announced his intention not to seek re-election to Parliament in the impending 2024 general elections.  The  MP disclosed this at his residence in Zebilla, the capital of the Bawku West District when he organised an end-of-year party for constituency executives, party serial callers, former District Chief Executives, Assembly Members as well as other relevant stakeholders in the party.  His announcement, if carried through, will bring to an end an illustrious law-making career and one of Ghana’s longest-serving lawmakers. With the birth of the fourth Republican constitution in 1992, Hon Avoka has since been the most popular face in the Zebilla constituency in Parliament and even more so for the NDC.   Except for the 2004 and 2016 elections, which he lost to Mr. John Ndebugre of the PNC and Frank Fuseini Adongo of the NPP,  Hon Avoka has been the constant feat
