Mr. Tahiru Lemme has been elected the President of National Union of Sissala Students of the Akenten Appiah-Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (NUSS-AAMUSTED).


Mr. Lemme together with other electees would man the leadership of the Sissala Students wing for the 2020/2021 academic year.


The other electees were: Vice President, Tangia Iddrisu; Secretary - Balali Micheal; Assistant Secretary, Wiebeten Nashirudeen; Financial Secretary, Ganu Baka; PRO, Abdul-Razak Basin; Organizer, Adams Jallu; Assistant Organizer, Nafah Osman; Treasurer, Elisabeth; and WoCOM; Achan Amina



Speaking during the Union's second meeting in this semester at the AAMUSTED Old Auditorium, the out-gone Vice Secretary, Mr. Obed Juatong has revealed that the membership of NUSS-AAMUSTED has, this year increased significantly, shooting-up to about 170 membership currently.


The out-gone Union leadership while expressing its happiness in the numbers has charged all freshers to put their shoulders on the wheel to steer affairs to move the Union to a higher level in the school and build it into a reckon force on the campus.


It has also advised them to avoid and distant themselves from actions and inactions that pose threats to their academic goals.


Giving his key note address, the President of NUSS-AAMUSTED, Mr. Lemme Tahiru expressed his readiness to harness ideas and contributions across the leadership executives and the entire wing for the development of the Union.



He acknowledged that there were several challenges confronting the Union but has expressed the zeal, together with all members, to surmont them.


Also, the two Members of Parliament for the Sissala sister Constituencies - Hon. Issahaku Amidu Chinnia, Sissala East and Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu, Sissala West who were roped into the meeting via telephone calls donated Gh¢500.00 and Gh¢450.00 respectively to support activities of the Union.

A young and practicing midwife who works at the Tumu Municipal Hospital saved the life of a woman in labour by the roadside. She had to work without any medical equipment but still demonstrated great skill to save the life of the unborn baby as well as the mother.    Madam Nawiadima Samankina was seen trying her best to deliver the baby by the street while balancing her own child on her back. She had to cut short her own schedule as soon as she saw the struggling woman on the street. The action took place in a town called Tumu in the Sissala East Municipality of the Upper West Region.
