The leadership of the Students' Representative Council (SRC) of Akenten Appiah-Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) yesterday, June 9, 2021, donated to students who were rendered homeless as a result of a fire that gutted their hostels last semester. A similar gesture was extended to a student who was nearly stabbed to death by armed robbers on campus.
The affected students were given an appreciable sum of money on behalf of the SRC to support themselves.
The gesture was to support and assuage the fears of the students from their momentary afflictions so that they can have peace of mind to go through their academic exercises while on campus.
In a brief speech, the SRC Vice President for AAMUSTED, Banu P. Abdul-Raheem said that the donation was an act to support the students who were rendered homeless by the inferno and the one who was nearly killed by armed robbers because of the welfare or general wellbeing of the students is their major concern.
He also charged the affected students to be circumspect, henceforth, in other not to be engulfed by such a situation.
The industrious Veep again admonished the students to give their very best in order to be equipped holistically so that they will hoist the flag of AAMUSTED high wherever they will find themselves in the not too distant future.
Receiving the donation, the students expressed their profound appreciation to the SRC leadership being led by Opoku Richard for their thoughtfulness, brimmed and well-measured in the moment of their distress, and, promised the Executives of their relentless and indefatigable support to shape the status quo of the school under their watch.
The short yet colorful ceremony was attended by the Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Philip Oti Agyin, SRC Financial Secretary, Maxwell Kubi Tetteh, SRC Secretary, Benjamin Akudole, and SRC Treasurer, Veronica Adwobeng Nkrumah.
