We can't spend all our lives being in the queues - By Justice Ali

My Brothers and Sisters, colleagues Young Democrats and partners in crime, I strongly believe the Electoral Commission of Ghana certainly want to play with we the ordinary Ghanaians health. In this  global pandemic of Covid-19, the EC still wants to proceed with its desire to produce a new voter registration simply because she's been instructed to do so, irrespective of the  consequences. If I may ask, what does it profit a nation to compile a new voters register and visit Covid-19 on its entire population?  Has someone considered the social, political and  economic cost implications of having to deal with millions of Ghanaians in isolation centres as covid patients waiting for the nonexistent treatment? And by the way, what exactly is wrong with the current register for which reason this level of risk is being contemplated? There is something that I am not getting with the intransigence of this electoral Commission Chairperson. My heart bleeds as to why she is risking our lives fo

An open letter to management of UEW E-learning - By Champion Raheem

The world for the past few months has been battling with unknown disease called coronavirus(covid-19). This disease has spread globally, Ghana is among other African countries which has also faced this pandemic. This made the president of the republic of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to suspend all social gatherings and to also close all public and private institutions, these institutions includes all universities in the country.Due to this lockdown of all tertiary institutions in Ghana, the various Heads of all universities in the country met to see the way forward on how to help students and lecturers to facilitate teaching and learning, by so doing theyagreed and develop a software to enhance academic excellence. All universities therefore introduce E-learning (LMS) to all tertiary students in Ghana. The LMS introduced was a very good decision taken by management however, management should consider the merits and demerits of this LMS. Management should therefore c

"KUMBORHU WRITES: ON THE NEED TO REMAIN FORTHRIGHT, TRUTHFUL, AND FRANK AS WE WOULD IN A JIFFY GO TO POLLS."

The students body of our noble institution would be heading to polls to once again vote and elect their students leaders who would be staring the affairs of the students for the next academic year. The saying is very true, when red leaves fall,  it gives chance to the green ones to emerge.  It's a constitutional mandate to conduct elections at the end of every administration's tenure.  Conducting of this elections is not what my thoughts are about to tackle,  but the way in which the elections are conducted is what is causing a grave concern to me. In fact,  there's no gain saying that the unhealthy practices  where by candidates vying for various portfolios are voted for not based on merits but rather based on other factors is a phenomenon which has led to the abysmal performance of our various representatives at the national level and even narrowing it down to students politics on our various tertiary institutions and ours is not an exception. I have noted wit

See How Banners and Flyers are Performing Magic in UEW-K students.

The premises of University of education Winneba -Kumasi campus have been invaded with banners and flyers on both sides of the school compound, the banners and posters have either been nailed against a tree or wall or have been placed on walls, mirrors and walking paths. The case of Kumasi is even worst when you see some students placing their posters on bowls and books of students. This is the second semester of the academic year which also doubles as an election year for various educational institution to take over from outgoing leaders, even though the ban on campaigning have not been lifted yet but most students have started informal campaigns thereby meeting and talking to students. In COLTEK campus you can see that all persons who have interest for various leadership positions are busing welcoming students back to campus on their banners and posters I talked about. Some write their names only, others write their names and classes, others even go the extend of writing their
